S  is for Seventy one years in the Dance Profession

That is how we would describe Dancedreams and that is not just this year!

2016 has been as usual a year of non-stop buzz. We were invited to the Carl Alan Awards in Blackpool where Bonnie was presented with her 3rd Carl Alan Award for” Outstanding Services to Dance “(The equivalent to the Oscars Awards in the dancing world) It was then onto the Finals of That’s Showbiz again in Blackpool. It is the centre of the dancing world as they have the amazing facilities to accommodate hundreds of dancers and this time it was in the prestigious Royal Opera House. The pressure was definitely on as for the last 2 years Dancedreams had taken the overall winners prize of £1000 so could they possibly hope to do this again? YES they did for the 3rd consecutive year we took home that coveted 1st Place.

From there it was straight into our Annual Shows in the Beacon Centre Greenock and Falkirk Town Hall. From the youngest Tiny Tot (age 2yrs) to our Senior’s what a show. The vitality, energy, enthusiasm and talent just poured out and the audience were electric.

On the same weekend it just so happened we also had the privilege of 21 dancers from Dancedreams having been nominated to take part in the British Association Of Teachers Of Dancing Bobby Barr Freestyle Scholarships.

There were dancers from all over the United Kingdom taking part around 90 Juniors and 95 Seniors went through their paces and once again Dancedreams came out triumphant. Paige McCabe took 1st Place in the Junior Technical Freestyle Scholarship and also The Junior Solo section. Clara Hill was runner up in the Junior Freestyle Scholarship and the Junior Hip Hop Section was won by Kareena Gossal.  Kiara Ross won the Senior Technical Freestyle section and the runner up was Danielle McKim who was also the winner of the Senior Solo section. That was one amazing scoop for Dancedreams. But credit has to go to all of our pupils for their dedication and  down right hard work and also the talented teachers who got them there.

In May we had our Annual Medal Examination session where we are proud to say provided 100% passes. So it was then onto our Award & Scholarship Ceremonies at Beancross Hotel in Falkirk and The David Lloyd Centre Renfrew. At Falkirk Our in house Bobby Barr Junior Scholarship this year was shared by Madeline Morton and Abbey Laurie.  Ashleigh just could not separate these girls they are both very talented dancers. The Senior Scholarship was won by Georgia McKenna. Back in Paisley/Bishopton the Junior Scholarship was awarded to Rebecca Durnan and the Senior winner was Danielle McKIm all very worthy winners with so much potential and talent between them.

The Glenrothes branch have been going from strength to strength in the freestyle competitive world and this year they have travelled extensively all over the country bringing home many titles and prizes. Nikki and Kirsty are such inspirational teachers which is definitely the key to giving their pupils success.

James McGee one of our Junior Boys has just returned from a very successful week training at The Pineapple Studios in London he won the summer scholarship at the final of Destination Dance in London.

Well done James we are all very proud of you.
